Re: Yoshihisa Kishimoto interview with The Verge
But since I read that article, I've been looking for the Double Dragon "unlicensed anime series", which it mentions. Can anybody help me out? He's probably referring to the cartoon series that Tradewest licensed out without Technos' involvement. He talked about it in the No Life special a...

Re: Double Dragon Neon
I don't have a PS3 at the moment (used to, not anymore), but all the feedback seems pretty positive thus far, which is good to hear. It's best to view this game as a Parodius-style spinoff than a legitimate sequel/reboot anyway. I was pretty cautious about it and for good reasons. I'm just hoping th...

Re: Double Dragon Neon
The game is supposed to be out on the PSN today and two reviews have been posted (one positive and one lukewarm), but they're not really informative.

Re: Yoshihisa Kishimoto interview with The Verge
I was actually going to post a link to the article just now. I really like the concept artwork he gave to WayForward for reference (I don't think it was actually drawn by him though, despite what the Verge says, it looks more like concept art from his unmade Kunio-kun sequel that featured the Lees a...

Looks like there'll be a follow-up issue dedicated to Renegade.

Re: Double Dragon Neon
Forum post with character models. Be warned that one of the images shown is a spoiler. Even though I don't like the art style that much, it's still interesting to see how the models were created.

Re: RetroGamer #103: The Making of Double Dragon
I got a hold of the issue a few days ago just to read interview. It's informative, but a bit barebones. I guess it's because I already have the Pix'n Love issue that had a similar Kishimoto interview that went a bit more in-depth, but I wish they would've asked Kishimoto about the NES versions and t...

The book was just published yesterday and they already sold out on the limited edition on Pix'n Love's online shop.

Re: Double Dragon Neon
Yeah, the Double Dragon series never really had a consistent fighting system, even between games that were released on the same platform (like the NES trilogy). The same is true for all their Kunio beat-'em-ups (all of them were rather different too, with the exception of River City Ransom and Downt...

Re: Clarifying the Abobo and Bolo mix-up
The reason why Jimmy's hair was red in DD2 and DD3 on the NES (as far as his in-game sprite is concerned) is because the NES has a limited color palette and because of this, Jimmy uses the same palette used for Billy's hair and skin tone for his outfit. Jimmy's hair is obviously supposed to be blond...
