I was just letting Jeff to hit me, to show all of Jeff's attacks, unfortunately he didn't do everything he got, it has something to do with the random attack, most of the times Jeff only do one attack type. Need to randomize more that...
And I gotta say, THAT is what a Sousetsuken uppercut should look like, not what they originally gave us, on the NES. As I stated in the 10-year anniversary article,
Yes! I always missed the "classic" one. For now, only Jimmy does it, Jimmy (and Bimmy) does it when using a special attack, the one from DD GBA.
Ohh I'm not sure if I did read your article, I need to check it!!
I gotta ask, what will the onscreen difference between Billy and Bimmy be?
The differences are minimal, when enemies are on floor, each one of the three have a different attack, the back throw of Billy is different that Bimmy/Jimmy's, the idle animation is different between the three, the dive kick of Billy is the same as Bimmy's...
I did edited Jimmy's hair to make him different, like on Super DD and DDA, but apply thaty to the game, would require me lot of extra time, considering that also I'm planning to add the weapons after the 1st demo. But with the current state I recycle the same sprites, just changing some animation and some moves for them.
Maybe some day, when I finish all the other characters, I will come back and make Jimmy a totally different character, and also Bimmy.
And feel free to ignore this, because it's just personal preference, but I've always felt that Jeff needs to wear green. Any other colour doesn't feel, well, Jeff, to me. Just like Billy and Jimmy's palette swaps in DD II arcade, Jeff's didn't suit.
Yeah I know what you mean. Jeff only used green on Super DD afterall. But I also liked the other palettes for DD1 (the bridge guys and the "Lemons" as we used to call them back on the arcades). Main reason to put different palettes, is to give more variation, as you will be fighting the same enemies all along...
thank for the comments guys, really appreciatted. Now I'm ripping sfx from the nes games (specially DD3) because I'm not happy with all the sfx I already have.
