Hi guy's thought I'd better let you all know. Just received an email from Microsoft about a retro promotion that they are running to gain pace on their new Games Room service. Anyway, one of the new games to appear on Games Room is Double Dragon. Strangley they are using the logo from the Atari 2600 version on the email...

Well that's... random. It probably IS the Atari 2600 version! :S

My first impressions of the games room after downloading the demo are not good at all. Sure, the presentation is great but I was hoping to enjoy Yar's Revenge et all right off the bat only to discover that they have to be individually purchased at silly prices.

In other news, Final Fight is out and has been given the kind of treatment usually reserved for special edition DVDs. Why can't all XBox Live Arcade releases be treated like this?

Well my little spies tell me that it is the arcade version and that it won't feature that HD graphics option. It's simply the original arcade game on it's own. Oh and April 28th is when it will be hitting the Games Room.

Which is a good thing imo. Especially based on the conversion I had earlier today... (see general discussion)

Great to see Double Dragon on XBOX Live..definitely a worthy addition to the retro arcade series.

Would be interesting to see what a remastered version of Double Dragon would be like (not counting the GBA port).

It's not coming back. Not yet anyway. Nobody knows what the next move will be (by whomever the hell owns it again...)
