While I was writing up my idea I started to thinking "with all these great ideas in this thread why don't we the Fans try to start up a kickstarter trying to obtain the rights to move with a Double Dragon game?" Think thats a good idea?

Yes and No. I think because we are all huge fans of Double Dragon we would all want to do a game and do it well; however, if you look at our stories we all have very different ideas. Honestly I have loved everyone's idea; yet, we all have a different vision and my priority for a DD game are very different from others. Some people want a Double Dragon remake but I want to continue the story from Super Double Dragon. The thing is if we put all our heads together can we agree with each other? Can we compromise and be happy with sacrificing our ideas? Who will do what work? If we were all to team up, we would have to agree on things and learn a lot about making games. We all would need to learn how to create sprites and coding...from scratch. We are not talking about a Beats of Rage remake, we would literally have to create a game.

I will give you an example. If you go one youtube and look up Double Dragon 2020 you will see a good friend of mine's game. His name is Tommy. While Tommy and I love DD, we share two extremely different opinions on the vision of the game. I agree to help him a little on developing his story; however, I don't share his vision as far as what he believes DD should be. What we did was basically make an agreement. If I help him finish his game, he will try to help me when I start mine. Unfortunately this was a while ago and I haven't heard from him. He started a kick starter campaign; however, I don't know his status as of yet.

Still, we would really have to think about it as a team. In my honest opinion, remaking DD one may not be a good idea since we have had a ton of recent remakes over the last few years. If we did we would have to convince people this is a new game that will turn into a series. I feel another remake would get ignored especially after what happened with Neon.

I sincerely hope the Double Dragon remakes are over with. I personally wish, instead of yet another lame 3d game, Wayforward could have gotten its skilled pixel artists(Contra 4, etc)
to have made a proper Double Dragon sequel. No reason why the Nintendo DS during its time couldn't have had a 2d DD game

Though I am quite satisfied if new DD games can only live on via mobile devices. Im fine with that, I just want NEW games, not 3d remakes or remakes/remixes in general.

Actually let me back track...if ONE game I'd love to see remade(in 16/32 bit styled pixel form), its the NES DD2. If only the Arcade had had a layout like that!
I love how fast DDA 2003 and DDi 2011 are. It still bugs me how achingly slow and awkward SNES SDD plays. And the original two feel very very slow, especially compared to later
side brawlers. So anything new should utilize a faster combo system.

My thoughts exactly. I've been wondering why they didn't, since Neon came out (especially since Contra 4 is exactly what it should have been, while Neon is NOTHING like we wanted).

Again, agreed. You might remember we discussed the closest things to that - the PC Engine DD2 and the fangame DD Extreme - in the Double Dragon Zeebo thread.
