Re: Another DD fangame
thanks!!!
I remixed that dedicating it and thinking on my father, who died 2 weeks ago.
Do you guys have some suggestion for music? ofd course I'm using the classic tunes, plus some remixes, but any more ideas?
I'm thinking on super spike v'ball, but not sure...
also, you can choose now your favorite colour!!
the NES classic:
master system inspired:
DD2 arcade inspired:
super double dragon inspired paklette:
plus some new palettes:
I'll add Jimmy and put a demo

Re: Another DD fangame
Personally I would like the DD2 arcade Billy with brown hair. Of those choice, definitely the DD2 arcade.

Awesome. For Jimmy, regardless he should always be in red.
Edit: I wanted to add a few things. As far as your father, we (I'm sure everyone else is as well.) sorry to hear that. I am sure he was a great man.
As far as music, it all depends on the feel of your game. If if feels darker, make it a Double Dragon II sounding game. If lighter Double Dragon 1. If complex, DD3.
I would have typed more, but I was getting ready for work this morning.

Also for music- it would be cool to use remixed tracks from Renegade (aka Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun) since that was a spiritual prequel to Double Dragon and has a good balance of serious/light mood. If your demonstrated remixing skills are any indication- it will sound fantastic!!!
May you live hapilly forever...

Re: Another DD fangame
My deepest sympathies. May your father rest in peace.
As far as your work goes, I'm increasingly impressed, every time there's a new post.
Billy's original arcade DD1 palette will always be the definitive one, for me (though I admit you didn't post that one, so I apologise!).
For some reason, the NES original looks inappropriate, for what you're trying to achieve with this game. All the others work, though - although if you're gonna go with the Master System look, please don't give Jimmy blue hair!
On that note, I gotta agree with what Billy Lee posted: Jimmy should always be in red. The arcade DD2 white / silver just doesn't feel right.

Re: Another DD fangame
Thanks a lot for the kind words guys!!!
I agreed, sadly the closest I got to the arcade color is a palette that I didn't like too much... (it's included though) it just doesn't look good with fewer colors, using the arcade variety.
Normally I would agreed, but as I'm trying to get closest to the arcade versions as possible, I have to include the "silver" palette.
Yeap, you're right, however I have a reason to do this. I don't want to spoil everything, but let's say that the enemies also have that variety.
Sorry, I did, and looks ridiculous... but it's up to the player to choose between all the colors I added...

thanks a lot!! also to Eddie and Billy!!
When I asked for music recommendations, I was referring to 8bit tunes... the music from the kunio kun series doesn¡t fit very well I think... maybe one song from spike v'ball
attached new screens with Jimmy with one custom palette.
