Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
As to the arcade version of DD3- I'm curious, has this improved anyone's opinion of the game? Not mine. There are essentially two issues here: The concept behind the game, and the presentation of the game itself. DD3 Arcade fails, in both respects. 1. CONCEPT: This is where the characters’ names ar...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
As to the arcade version of DD3- I'm curious, has this improved anyone's opinion of the game? It appears a lot of these characters' names are very clever references. Therefore, it would seem that if at least some of them are intentional, the developers did put some thought into the game rather than ...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
"As for Willy, I think that as a boss character, he may be named after William Dozier; the executive producer (and narrator) of “The Green Hornet” TV series, where Bruce Lee starred as Kato." Great theory! I found this pic on a classic batman fansite. You have to squint a bit but it defin...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
All very interesting theories. Regarding Abore- you are both correct. It's very clearly an Arnold (Schwartzeneger) reference. This connection is referenced in the "I'll be back" achievement in Double Dragon Trilogy for the IOS. Regarding Jeff, this may be getting a bit abstract, but it is ...

Re: Double Dragon II NES Hidden Dialogue
Billy alone: "I can't be beaten in my revenge for Marian! Get ready, Shadow Warrior!" Go Billy Lee! Jimmy alone: "I'm gonna beat you to a pulp! Get ready, Shadow Warrior!" Go Jimmy Lee! 2 players: "Let's go, Billy!" "It's time to teach him a lesson he'll never forg...

Double Dragon II NES Hidden Dialogue
FYI, Has anyone noticed that the cinematic dialogue in Mission 9 changes depending on which characters you are using? There is distinct dialogue when you are playing as Billy alone, Jimmy alone, or Billy and Jimmy together. A minor easter egg, but it's still pretty neat.

Re: Double Dragon Trilogy out now on IOS and Android
There was a major update this morning- the developers mercifully added continues and a few extra lives- now the game almost seems too easy even on the hardest levels. Still, the continues reset your score and there will be some intense competition for the leaderboards

Re: Double Dragon Trilogy out now on IOS and Android
Is iCade the only supported controller? The arcade controls don't look like true arcade quality Some of the Dan achievements are very hard- I have the first one but the second (DD2 expert/arcade mode) is pretty tough! I do have some advise if anyone else is trying to get these- anyone else want to s...
