Re: Biggest Question: Why the graphic change for DD3 Arcade?
Awwwwww! This explains so much! Seriously thanks. DD2 threw me for a loop when it hit arcades around the holidays in 1988. I was at once taken by the futuristic colorful take on the characters, but immediately I realized it was literally just a graphical upgrade/remake of DD1. I guess that'd be my s...

Re: Weird NES Double Dragon Ad
It is amazing.......that DD would have even been announced for the home system within 1987 as DD was red hot in arcades. Let alone be using the 1994 DDV characters. Then again, I can't help but love April Fool's related retro game stuff. And we have seen some pretty different promo game art(ie: the ...

Biggest Question: Why the graphic change for DD3 Arcade?
It still puzzles me how in 1990 Technos outsourced their prized franchise to a third party developer to create the awkwardly weak Double Dragon 3 arcade. The graphics/layout/health alone, a total ripoff of Konami's 1989 arcade game Crime Fighters, make little sense...when one takes into consideratio...

Re: Double Dragon Fighting Game Now Available on PSN
Strangely one of my favorite DD games...and to me, a lot more faithful to canon and overall DD aesthetic than a lot of the other games(DD3 arcade, DD"V", etc)
I just ignore the crappy movie cut scenes and enjoy it as a kind of pseudo sequel/spinoff from Super Double Dragon.

Re: Double Dragon Renegade short film project
Niiiiice. I'm so used to seeing Mario/Zelda/Metal Gear/Street Fighter fan films on youtube. Which are fine. But it's very cool seeing less mainstream or forgotten titles getting the fan film treatment(Id love to do a NARC or Ninja Warriors fan short someday) I like the aesthetic choice of making it ...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
I was surprised to read(was it Retro Gamer? I forget) that most the DD characters names were derived from Bruce Lee films. That's why I agree how lame it was for them to make this fake "80s" Double Dragon Neon game(which didnt even seem 80s, more like a weird futuristic 70s) Double Dragon ...

TOUGH TURF, a rare Sega arcade game from 1989.

Re: Your ideal Double Dragon Sequel
I sincerely hope the Double Dragon remakes are over with. I personally wish, instead of yet another lame 3d game, Wayforward could have gotten its skilled pixel artists(Contra 4, etc) to have made a proper Double Dragon sequel. No reason why the Nintendo DS during its time couldn't have had a 2d DD ...

Replaying DDi...on a bigger higher end Android
Been replaying "DDi" on a bigger new higher end Android phone, and the difference is quite stark from when it originally came out. That and some of the quirks seemed to be ironed out(tho how many companies did the game change hands since million and bow wow?) I notice not a single glitch o...

Re: Double Dragon Arcade Trilogy comes to IOS & Android
While this is good to introduce to a new audience... 1. What's the difference between this and just playing the actual roms on Mame4Android? Ok, there's a leaderboard...and bluetooth...but 2. Egads, the button placement. Awkward 3. Showing DD3 next to DD1 and DD2 really puts into perspective how hor...
