Re: Clarifying the Abobo and Bolo mix-up

Nice! Is there scans online of the whole Famicom DD manual?(or the DD2 and 3 manual?) The DD3 manual is on this site. It's done in a manga-style, unlike the others (it only gives out the names of the non-playable enemies from Mission 1 though). m I found pictures of the manuals for the first two Fa...

Re: Double Dragon Neon

I missed out on Dynamite Cop, but I did played its predecessor Die Hard Arcade on the arcades a few times. It felt rather weird how the characters were polygonal, but it still played like a 2D belt-scroller. There was a third arcade-only game in the series (Asian Dynamite), but it was pretty mediocr...

Re: Double Dragon Neon

I rediscovered Zombie Revenge (a 3D beat-'em-up by Sega) and frankly it looks way better than Double Dragon Neon in its current state despite the fact that Zombie is a Dreamcast games from 12 years ago, whereas Neon is being made for the PS3/Xbox 360. So it's not even a matter of whether the game is...

Re: Kishimoto DD interview in the next issue of RetroGamer..

He has been interviewed by Gorges Florent of Pix'n Love two years ago (I have the issue myself as a matter of fact), so he's not a hard person to track down (he even has an e-mail on his official website). Kishimoto's authorized biography is scheduled to be released in France next month.

Re: What would like to see in a new Double Dragon game?

I wasn't aware of The Raid. Looks like a pretty kick-ass movie. Thanks for the recommendation.

Re: Altered Beast (Sega Mega Drive) thoughts?

I played Altered Beast a few times in the past, but never really cared much for it for some reason. I was actually looking forward to Project Altered Beast, but it only came out in Japan and Europe and I read it wasn't that great.

Re: What would like to see in a new Double Dragon game?

As much as I like belt-scrollers, I would've love to have seen Double Dragon rebooted as a 3D action game in the vein of Devil May Cry, the Xbox Ninja Gaiden games or Yakuza to name a few. The NES version of Double Dragon II in particular is one of the few beat-'em-ups that feel like you're not just...

Re: Double Dragon Neon

I personally hope there will be actual enemy variety this time and that the skin swapping isn't just a cheap method to create an illusion of variety by reusing the same three or so character model for everyone. One big problem the Double Dragon series always had for me was the fact that you rarely f...

Re: Double Dragon Neon

Still, I think this is the first Double Dragon game since Return that had Kishimoto's involvement in some way. I don't think he was involved in anyway with the Neo-Geo fighting game or any of the other Million-era games, even though he was given a special thanks in the Japanese version of Advance. A...

Re: Double Dragon Neon

It seems Mr. Kishimoto is indeed supporting the game's development and isn't just promoting the game on his site. Maybe this will be good after all.
