Re: Double Dragon for Zeebo (new game released in Brazil)

I like what I see! It looks kinda difficult, particularly when you’re paralysed (for too long, in my opinion), after being hit. On the other extreme, the whip seems to make you nigh-on unstoppable, Indiana Jones-style (kinda funny, given that it used to be pretty much useless). Notable points: - Abo...

Re: Double Dragon III Famicom version script translation

I would also like to add my thanks for the translation. And I agree that niether version of DD III's storyline is that great. This is because they're both based on East Tech's arcade perversion. The Neo-Black Warriors only appeared in the first level, and the Jim's Revenge sub-plot should have been ...

Re: Double Dragon Advance character profiles

Awesome stuff, thanks for translating and posting!

I never thought Abobo would be the type to like singing and dancing, but there you go!
Burnov's data seems to be based on his Neo Geo incarnation.
I think Anderson was named after the boss of the Gameboy DD II.

Again, thanks!

Re: Double Dragon for Zeebo (new game released in Brazil)

I wouldn't mind a Double Dragon Advance 2. We never got one of those. A fully completed Super Double Dragon would be nice too. Or just a new game altogether. Agreed. In the meantime, for those of us that live in countries where the Zeebo is not sold (eg. me!), zeebodav has posted videos of kBessa’a...

Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs

A while ago, I sent an email to the mailbag, about the character design of a couple of Rage of the Dragons characters, who I believe are inside references to earlier DD characters (anyone is welcome to disagree with me, but I think the similarities are too constant to be coincidental). I figured I’d...

Re: Combatribes coming to the Virtual Console

Its better than the arcade Double Dragon 3 at least. ULTRATRUTH. And yeah, Blitz, Beserker and Bullova do bear more than just a passing resemblance to Billy, Jimmy and Sonny - even in their paletting (Blue guy with blonde hair, Red guy with brown hair, Yellow guy with darker skin). http://i528.phot...

Re: Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs

Food for thought. But if you’re right, I still think they should have stuck with the Dulton sprites, for Billy and Jimmy. Moving on, my thoughts on Abobo and Marian. Of all the characters who were in the movie, Abobo’s portrayal is the most accurate; particularly given the moves that make his muscle...

Re: Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs

I think the flier art for Double Dragon II was commissioned before they even made the game. Billy and Jimmy are in their original blue and red outfits instead of the black and white they actually wear in the game, while one of them is posing heroically with Marian when she doesn't even return to li...

Re: Best or favorite rendition of the Double Dragon theme

DD Advance, all the way (Although the gameboy DD II came pretty close).

But for me, the definitive DD theme will always be City Slum.

Re: What Was The Point Of The 1993 Cartoon/Toy/Game?

Okay, I know I’m re-jigging an old topic here, but I thought I’d have a crack at this one. No, the cartoon was not based on the comic series – but my theory is it was originally supposed to be. I’ve brought this up before, but look at the Yinyang-like sign of the Shadow Warriors , from the cartoon a...
