Re: Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs
Those edited Dulton sprites definitely look closer to the average Billy and Jimmy look. Thanks, I thought so! I never really noticed how off Billy and Jimmy looked compared to the movie because I watched maybe about 10 minutes on TV and was too put off to watch anymore. You made the smart decision....

Re: Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs
The only pre-existing character I haven’t looked at is Shuko. Now I must admit at the start, I’m kinda biased against this character. I didn’t like him in the film. I didn’t really like anything about the film. The good part is, everything about the game is better than its film-counterpart. Includin...

Re: Double Dragon (Neo Geo) character designs
From here, it’s pretty much open-ended, as the remaining cast are all new. As Johnny Undaunted said, Amon looks very similar to Yagyu Ranzou. In fact, it was a pretty silly omission on Technos’ part, to not just call this ninja Yagyu Ranzou. Even if this was supposed to be an original character, in ...

Re: DDII&III
I always figured that beating a game simply meant completing it. In beat 'em ups, this means defeating the final opponent. In sidescrollers like Double Dragon, it usually means killing the end boss (though it sometimes also requires beating every single one of his cronies). So, it never mattered to ...

Re: toys of the "real" double dragon series?
I'm so with you, on that one. Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, the cartoon action figures were the only ones ever made. But heck, I'd even take unofficial, bootleg stuff, if it was faithful. For a while, I was customising my own Double Dragon miniatures, for a tabletop game; if I ever finish that...

Re: Find of the day... (DD arcade review from back in the day!)
They gave it a 10, for endurance. Prophetic. As for characters' names, I learned them when I got the Melbourne House C64 version (which I actually enjoyed, despite its major shortcomings). However, at the time, I was still learning to read. So, Billy, Jimmy, Willy and Marian were no problem. Abobo w...

Re: Streets of Rage 2 opinions...
If anything, Axel's more of a Cody clone and I always thought of Cody and Guy as Capcom's answer to Billy and Jimmy. THANKYOU. That was my initial reaction, the very first time I saw Final Fight. To be fair, it wasn't just Capcom that did it. After Double Dragon, there were innumerable Sidescroller...

Fan Art discussion
I figured I'd start a thread for discussing DD-related fan art - both that of the Dojo and elewhere. Post opinions, links, anything you want to share! And I gotta say, I was REALLY impressed by Eqwanox's recent contributions to the Dojo. The characters are all reminiscent of their NES portraits, and...

Re: garaje
Yeah, both games were directed by Yoshihisa Kishimoto (who then went on to direct DD and DDII).
So, while the vehicles are technically Data East's property, he gave them cameos, in his Technos work.

Re: Double Dragon Neo Geo...one of the best DD games?
Anyone else here consider the Neo Geo game a part of the official Double Dragon canon? Especially since it's from Technos and not some third party? Respectfully, I don't. The plot of DD NG does not tie in to the original storyline, in any way. It's semi-connected to the movie, also involving the Dr...
