PUNCH: To punch when facing left, press the B button. To punch when facing right, press the A button. You'll find that when you first start, punching will be the easiest method of hurting people. As you get better at doing stronger moves you may be able to elimate punching all together.
KICK: To kick when facing left, press the A button. To kick when facing right, press the B button. While kicking is good for nailing someone behind you in the gut, it leaves you wide open for shots in the front. It is also relatively slow and ineffective. I don't kick very often because of these facts.
JUMPKICK: To jumpkick, first press both the A and B buttons to jump, then the attack button (A if left, B if right) to kick in mid-air. The jump kick can be an affective attack when trying to get an enemy off of his feet. Also, an enemy is less likely to duck when jumpkicking than when using a more technical kick.
GRAB: To grab an enemy, deliver a few punches to the face while press the D-Pad in the direction of said enemy. As your foe ducks his/her head to avoid the punches, you will grab it. The grab is the precursor to several other moves and is an excellent way to slow down the action.
KNEE TO HEAD: After grabbing the head of an enemy (above), to knee them repeatedly in the face, press the attack button and the direction your facing. After several knees to head your opponent will fall to the floor. This may not be enough to defeat some enemies.
HURL: After grabbing the head of an enemy (above), to hurl them across the screen in a mighty rage, press the attack button and the opposite direction of what you are facing. Hurling the enemy can be great fun, especially when you hurl them into something... or off of something. The possiblities are endless.
UPPER KICK: After grabbing the head of an enemy (above), to kick them in the face sending them rocketing upwards in a parabola fashion, press the attack button and up. Kicking the enemy in the face with that much force will more than likely put anyone you can grab in the first place out for the count.
ELBOW SMASH: After grabbing the head of an enemy (above), to smash them in the back of the head with a sharp elbow, press the attack button and down. The elbow smash is similar to the knee to head; you can deliver multiple blows before they fall to the ground. Unlike before though, the elbows may do the trick.
CYCLONE KICK: To deliver a devasting whirlwind jumpkick press both buttons to first jump, then repeatedly press the A or B attack buttons to spin in that direction. It may take a little time to pull this one off but once you do, and get used to doing it... you'll find that you do this more often than most other moves.
HYPER UPPERCUT: To deliver a Hyper Uppercut, you must be in a kneel position; only when landing from a jump or when getting up from a fall. In that split second, press the attack button. When you've perfected the timing element involved, you'll find this move to come to great use almost everytime you land from a jump.
HIGH KNEE: The most obscure of the three "power moves" is also the most devastating. To knee your opponet in the face sending him flying across the screen, you must be in a kneeling position (see above). In that split second, press the attack button and the direction of your oppenent. POW! Send 'em flying!
