Re: DDII&III
To me, in order to truly master any arcade game, you must be able to at least beat it on the default difficulty setting on one credit. DD2 seems to had been deliberately designed to make this as difficult to achieve as possible. You never get any extra lives other than ones you start off with (which...

Re: Double Dragon III Famicom version script translation
I was browsing the back-issues of Nintendo Power available at Retromags and I've found this preview of DD3 in the November/December 1990 issue (Dr. Mario cover). http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/3949/dd3preview.th.jpg Further proof that they were originally going to use an almost literal translati...

Unproduced Double Dragon TV pilot
Found this on the January 1991 issue of Nintendo Power. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7165/tradewesttv.th.jpg So apparently there was going to be a live-action Double Dragon TV pilot written by one of the scriptwriters of Total Recall. I doubt this has anything to do with the later cartoon seri...

Re: Unproduced Double Dragon TV pilot
The February 1994 issue of Nintendo Power (Bugs Bunny cover) also mentions the development of a Double Dragon game titled "Code of the Dragon" (very likely just an early name for Double Dragon V, considering the timing of its release).

Re: Unproduced Double Dragon TV pilot
I can't believe how milked Double Dragon was or was going to be. How popular were the games exactly? Sure, I'm a fan an' all but I can honestly say that it wasn't that big after the first coin-op in Europe (though the NES didn't do that well in the UK, came out late, etc, etc, so I only have my hom...

Re: toys of the "real" double dragon series?
Double Dragon merchandise besides the games are very hard to come by really. I seriously doubt any action figures were produced in Japan or America. I did find these stickers based on the first two Famicom games. The SD artwork of Billy and Jimmy are also on the side packaging of DD2 for the Famicom...

Unused Music in Double Dragon 3 (arcade)
I found this tune from the arcade version of DD3 by using the M1 game music player. It never actually appears in the game itself, but it was recomposed for the NES version and used for Mission 5-3 (the player where Hiruko places the three Sacred Stones to open the door). I wished they would've used ...

Re: What's going on with Kunio on the Wii?
m Arc System Works opened a portal site for the Kunio-kun games they're publishing for the DS and Wii, even though they haven't announced actually any Kunio games for the Wii yet (other than the Virtual Console rereleases of the original Famicom games, which are not even mentioned on the site). I do...

Re: Double Dragon 2600 in the latest edition of GamesTM magazine
I never understood why they even bothered making an Atari 2600 version. I can understand the various computer ports, like the ZX Spectrum version, since every popular arcade game from the 1980's had at least one computer port, but its not like the Atari 2600 was still a profitable gaming platform by...

Re: Kunio-Kun no Chou Nekketsu! Daiundoukai
To be honest, I haven't been following the Kunio series since Super Dodgeball Brawlers, which I found to be mildly disappointing. The only upcoming games I've been keeping track of are Hokuto Musou and MGS: Peace Walker.
