Re: Another DD fangame
I like what I see! The Jeff portrait is a particular favourite of mine - what did you use, as a base? Did you do the backgrounds, yourself? In particular, I'm curious about the minotaur statues, in stage 4. Are those from the Master System? All in all, it looks like you put in a lot of effort, and i...

mechapop hit it on the head - hope everybody had a great April Fools Day!!
The similarities to the cartoon are intentional, but can I ask what elements from the movie you saw?

Re: Biggest Question: Why the graphic change for DD3 Arcade?
many people consider the Combatribes to be the unofficial Double Dragon 3. I'm one of them. I said it years ago, in this older thread. As far as I was concerned, Combatribes always felt more like the rightful successor to DD II, to me, than DD 3. This was even before I learned that it was also a Te...

Weird NES Double Dragon Ad
I recently managed to get my hands on the short-lived and under-appreciated N-Lords comic series (any other fans, here?). While I’ve been enjoying it for its usual cheesy, 80s goodness, I noticed an ad in issue #3 (November 1987) for the then-unreleased NES port of Double Dragon. At first, I didn’t ...

Re: Live-Action Double Dragon Trailer
Incredibly well-made.
Incredibly funny.
Incredibly awesome!
This trailer was fun, it led me to Ep. 1 - I really enjoyed the FPS series.
But then Episode 5 was AMAZING.
I really love the way you both celebrate and parody the world of video games. I had to keep pausing it, so I could stop laughing!

Re: Double Dragon Renegade short film project
Re Spike and Hammer: These names were also used in the Master System story , as the Lee brothers' nicknames (although they were switched around). Your name is Billy Lee. Your twin brother is Jimmy Lee. On the streets they call you the Spike, and your brother, the Hammer. The DD Dojo has a great pic ...

Re: Double Dragon Renegade short film project
Agreed, nice touch with the "MATIN" and "ENGLISH TEAR" signs. Also, this is the first time I've seen a plausible explanation, as to why Billy and Jimmy only came out of the garage, AFTER Marian was kidnapped - so good job with that, too. And I've also been wondering about the mea...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
I just found another possible source for Jeff: Jim Kelly (Williams in “Enter the Dragon”) played a character by that name, in “Golden Needles” – notably also directed by Robert Clouse (who did “Enter the Dragon” and “Game of Death”). ___ DD III NES-exclusive villains: (I apologise for really scrapin...

Re: Musing on DD characters’ names
As to the arcade version of DD3- I'm curious, has this improved anyone's opinion of the game? Not mine. There are essentially two issues here: The concept behind the game, and the presentation of the game itself. DD3 Arcade fails, in both respects. 1. CONCEPT: This is where the characters’ names ar...
